Think: limitless carbon-free fusion energy, rocket propulsion, fusion supply chain, next-gen AI chips, and more\u2026 all powered by plasma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-strategic-investment-in-the-future-of-plasma\">A Strategic Investment in the Future of Plasma<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The HAX Plasma Forge will combine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list green-bullet\">\n<li><strong>SOSV\u2019s proven model for startup commercialization <\/strong>through <a href=\"http:\/\/hax.co\">HAX<\/a>, our hard tech program which <a href=\"https:\/\/hax.co\/sosvs-hard-tech-program-hax-officially-opens-doors-to-its-new-hq-in-newark-nj\/\">debuted<\/a> its Newark, NJ headquarters in 2024 with support from the NJEDA.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>World-class plasma physics expertise and resources <\/strong>from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pppl.gov\/\">Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL)<\/a>, the U.S. Department of Energy\u2019s premier plasma physics lab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public funding<\/strong> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njeda.gov\/\">New Jersey Economic Development Authority<\/a> (NJEDA) to make it all possible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Backed by a combined <strong>$49 million in funding<\/strong> ($24.5M each from NJEDA and SOSV), the HAX Plasma Forge will include a facility up to <strong>10,000 square feet of lab and co-working space<\/strong>, specially equipped for low-temperature plasma research and offer startups HAX\u2019s signature support model, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list green-bullet\">\n<li>Seed capital (up to $550K per startup)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on technical support and R&amp;D infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Co-location with leading plasma scientists and industry partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to SOSV\u2019s global founder, investor, and supply chain networks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As NJ Governor Phil Murphy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.njeda.gov\/njeda-sosv-and-princeton-plasma-physics-laboratory-partner-to-launch-plasma-focused-strategic-innovation-center\/\">put it<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n      <div id=\"cohere-blockquote-block_28762b94028a432e5c9f31a703eaa75b\" class=\"cohere-blockquote has-text-align-left\" style=\"\">\n        <div class=\"cohere-blockquote__inner\">\n          <div class=\"cohere-blockquote__content\">\n            \n\n<p>The NJ HAX Plasma Forge, along with other Strategic Innovation Centers across New Jersey, will support startup creation, generate high-paying jobs, and strengthen the state\u2019s long-term economic competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n          <\/div>\n          <div class=\"cohere-blockquote__author\">\n                        <div class=\"cohere-blockquote__author-details\">\n              <div class=\"cohere-blockquote__author-name\">\n                Phil Murphy              <\/div>\n              <div class=\"cohere-blockquote__author-position\">\n                Governor of New Jersey              <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n          <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    \n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-plasma-why-now\"><strong>Why Plasma?
