The round was led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bdc.ca\/en\/bdc-capital\/venture-capital\/funds\/deep-tech-venture-fund\">BDC Capital\u2019s Deep Tech Venture Fund<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcternventures.com\/\">ArcTern Ventures<\/a>, with participation from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muusclimate.com\/\">MUUS Climate Partners<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelcapital.com\/\">Intel Capital<\/a>, and SOSV&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyperlume\u2019s groundbreaking technology addresses critical bottlenecks in <strong>chip-to-chip communication<\/strong> by replacing traditional copper interconnects with ultra-fast <strong>microLED-based optical solutions<\/strong>. This advancement significantly enhances data transfer speeds, reduces latency, and improves energy efficiency, meeting the escalating demands of AI workloads and accelerated computing environments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company was founded in 2022 by CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/mohsen-asad\/?originalSubdomain=ca\">Mohsen Asad<\/a> and CTO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/hossein-fariborzi\/\">Hossein Fariborzi<\/a> who combined their expertise in electrical engineering and low-power circuit design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As noted in the <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/02\/19\/hyperlume-wants-to-make-chip-to-chip-communication-faster-and-more-efficient\/\">TechCrunch article<\/a> about the funding, &#8220;Energy consumption and latency have always been problems for chip-to-chip communication in data centers, Asad said, but they\u2019ve been exacerbated by the rise \u2014 and breakneck pace \u2014 of AI.
